About Andrew Demers
Andrew Demers was born into a large self-employed family in New Hampshire. As #8 of 11 children, education was always a priority. Demers learned from his older siblings and had an opportunity to teach the younger ones. Andrew was taught at a young age the importance of hard work and determination. Demers had a variety of jobs growing up including working for the family glass company (ABC Glass, Allenstown, NH), Manchester Union Leader Paperboy, and labor/landscaping in the local cemetery.
Andrew fell in love with Cardiology at his Occupational Trades High School and became determined to attain an Associates Degree in Cardiovascular Technology at Southern Maine Community College. With continued education always his priority, Andrew later received a Bachelors of Science in Business Management, completing courses from both University of Massachusetts Boston and Kaplan University.
Education and hard work wasn’t Andrew’s only focus. He also has always had a love of the outdoors and adventure. In 1999, Andrew set off to hike the Appalachian Trail, a trek that took him 5 months of walking; from Georgia to Maine. Along the path he traveled, he learned lessons of persistence, adjustment, acceptance, and the importance of slowing down and walking his own walk.
Back to the working world; Andrew enjoyed 6 years of the high impact lifestyle of a Registered Invasive Cardiovascular Specialist. He spent the majority of this career path in the Cath Lab of Lahey Clinic and later worked in Massachusetts General Hospital. Through relationships forged, Andrew then moved on to becoming a Principal Sales Rep for Medtronic Cardiovascular. He specialized in Coronary and Peripheral Sales, and was awarded many honors including Presidents Club Award Winner, Two Year Top Performer, and Runner Up Rookie of the Year.
Once he became a father, Andrew changed focus to Entreprenurial opportunities. Rather than selling on the road, he wanted to transition to working from home [or nearby] where he could spend more time with his children. Favorite early memories include eating lunch with them, play breaks, and giving special accolades for potty training successes.
Andrew’s older sister, Laurie (#6), heard his desire for an Entrepreneurial opportunity and shared her experiences in the world of civil engineering, where stormwater trainings were not flexible to the needs of the consumer. With his sister, Andrew jumped at the opportunity to create StormwaterUSA, now called StormwaterONE, an occupational trade school offering online certificate programs and curriculum for Construction Stormwater Management, Post Construction Maintenance, Municipal, Industrial, and Green Infrastructure.
After becoming one of the top Stormwater online training companies in the country, Andrew began formulating plans to create an eLearning business that would meet the needs of consumers outside the Stormwater Industry. The need for Rockfish Learning Management became apparent in March 2020 when the Coronavirus Pandemic shut the country down. With almost the entire world working from home, Andrew decided it was time to offer Rockfish as a solution to the diverse instructional needs of the country.
Rockfish Learning Management is founded on the same principals of StormwaterONE: Quality Products, Quality Interactions, and Quality of Life. Andrew enjoys having the flexibility in his life to maintain an active and adventurous lifestyle with his wife, Jillian Demers, and 2 children, Drew and Elle. Knowing the importance of a Work-Life Balance, Andrew makes his family, his employee families, and his customer families, his priority.
